Another exotic friend from the northern hemisphere, the Northern Cardinal is a stunning little red bird found over much of America. When I stumbled across them in Hawaii, I couldn’t take my eyes off their striking red plumage and cute, pointed crest feathers. The females have more subdued, grey tones in their feathers but share the same pointed crest which makes this bird so endearing. As seed eaters, Northern Cardinals are common garden visitors in the States and are well-loved in their home country.
